How do I add a Facebook Group?
In order to connect a Facebook group to share posts through SocialOmm, we'll need to authenticate through your personal Facebook profile. This personal profile must be an admin of the group you want to connect, as it’s not possible to connect groups that you are only a member of.

Whilst we authenticate Facebook groups through your personal profile, we won't access your personal information or publish content on your profile.
All posts published to a Facebook group will appear as being posted by the Facebook member who connected the group.
Once you’re an admin of the Group, follow these steps to connect it to SocialOmm (you will need to complete these steps on a computer – not a mobile device – as the settings that need to be changed in Facebook are not available on mobile):
- Login to your Facebook profile and navigate to the Group you want to connect:
- Click Settings on the left-hand side of your page:
- Find the Manage Advanced Settings section towards the bottom of the page and then click the edit icon to the right of Apps:
- Click Add Apps.
- Search for CoSend and then click the CoSend app that shows up in the results (CoSend is our gateway for connecting your social profiles to SocialOmm):
- Click Add:
Now, head over to your SocialOmm account and click Manage Social Profiles from the left-hand side of your dashboard:
- Click the Add a social media profile button and select Facebook Group:
- If you are not already logged into Facebook, enter your account credentials, and then select Log in:
- Click Continue as [name]:
- Click OK at the next step. In this step, it's important not to change any of the permissions.
- Lastly, tick the box next to the group you'd like to connect and click Next.
- You'll be redirected back to SocialOmm where you can click the Connect button for the Facebook Group you want to connect:
Now, head over to your SocialOmm account and click Manage Social Profiles from the left-hand side of your dashboard:
You won't see these steps if you already have another Facebook or Instagram account connected to our scheduler that was authorised through the same Facebook personal profile. Instead, you'll see a message asking to continue with previous settings. Do not make changes here and just click Continue as [your profile name].
